| AVP_Matt - 2/6/2019 18:46 +1 on both. That's if you can find 50 feeder pigs that arent from 10 different farms plus a place to sell them that doesn't involve 40 different buyers.
The only way you're going to make much (or any for that matter) with 50 hd of feeder pigs is to sell them to 40+ buyers.
Even if you buy the pigs at a discount vs a large group, you're going to have the odds stacked against you to compete against hogs fed inside a confinement building if you're going to try to sell them to a packer at whatever price they're offering on that day.
Could very well be worth the cost for the education, as long as one learns from their mistakes.
