NC Indiana | I would start with an old alfalfa field and go from there. Alfalfa field is already favoring a no-till environment biologically speaking. Here we want N and S on with the planter to help stimulate the biology to replace our tillage. Can add cover crops to open up pore space in soil, recycle nutrients, help keep the spreader from cutting in, and feed biology. If you were "here" that would be what I would suggest. Lots of good no-tillers on here from Iowa vs me who's only visited the Dubuque/Maquoketa/Bellevue are for a few weeks over several years, might search back through and see what you can dig up. | |
