I have been reading up on this, the factory button is supposedly CAN based only ie you cant use it. I wonder though, did it communicate to the NAV controller with a CAN signal or is it possibly converted to analog before then. If so, maybe it could be found in the NAV connector?
From my limited experience I think it is best to avoid using the factory switches for applications where they are not intended. I've attempted this is some other situations that lead me to this conclusion.
That's why I thought that removing the switch but hiding it and reconnecting it might be an option. Then the empty slot could be used for a switch designed for the new system. I'm thinking that just removing it might cause a complaint from the tractor system. I'm quite sure it would on some.
