They didn't charge me anything to dry, they just shrunk my bushels based on the moisture.


In that instance you came out ahead. You guarantee yourself maximum dry bushels by letting the elevator shrink them down to 13. If that's all our elevator did I'd never haul in anything below 13.

Remember, once they go below 13, your losing bushels, and not getting paid for over drying... some will say it cost you more to combine and truck that extra water, but I think what you gain offsets what you lose going below 13%.
