ESW ND | Definitely wrong in that thinking..or these idiots DON'T know how to use it. They cause more washboards than eliminate them. The are only suppose to chop up the shoulders that they pull up in the windrow. They seem to think it's necessary to gouge a couple inches into the hard pack surface. Now all those little divots hold water and with speed and no gravel, they become pot holes and washboardy in spots. Atleast that what this county does with them. They don't have scarifiers anymore, atleast they don't ever use them.

In North Dakota I’ve seen county road graders with a hydraulic tiller type attachment on the front and rear. Was told it’s perfect for dealing with severe wash boarding and potholes in gravel roads. |
