Oooh,I guess they are raising corn now that never raised corn in the past. Financially it hasn't really done much for the guy working the ground.
The real issue is if they shut 'er down, there would be 5 billion bushels of corn that would be looking for home, you guys out west couldn't raise grass cheap enough to compete with that scenario.
I don't know man, we burn about 9-12,000 gallons of ethanol on our farm yearly, between pickups, lawn care equipment, and gas tractors. Used to burn a lot more in the 80's-90's with a couple of gas straight trucks and a gas tractor running the grinder/mixer.
You'd think that if there were issues, we'd be seeing them.
