Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa | Dennis-I keep thinking about a neighbor of mine who retired maybe 15 years ago or so-an excellent farmer and operator, also very, well, the only word i can come up with is fussy, and nothing wrong with being that. He told me that after he retired, a local good sized farming operation in the area approached him about driving a combine for them. He went on to tell me that he told them "I want the cab vacuumed out and the windows washed every morning, and I am not greasing or fueling up the combine." He went on to help them fall and spring I bet for the next 10 years, they were lucky to have him. |
