That cost to the consumer will be paid until a manufacturer finds another place in the world that has a cheap labor supply and sell the product from there. China has much more at stake because over time they face the loss of their biggest market. In history United Kingdom lost out to cheap American production, America lost out to Japan, Japan was replaced by China and now it looks like Vietnam Nam, India, Malyasia may be the heir apparent. This all happens on a long term time line and we can never be sure when we reach the focal point, but it will happen. China by 2025 policy is causing much consternation with their trading partners with good reason. Will be interesting to see how this will all play out in the future.
