Where are costs going between the two? Are application costs eating up the value of hog manure from a barn if you were to build a new one?
After 40+ yrs. of hogs & manure , wet falls ,compaction , questionable spread patterns & expensive application costs don't give you any economic advantage over commercial fertilizer & no cost savings....no if you had real light sandy soils ,dry area with big window too spread & big land base next to barn it would be a alternative....building barns at todays costs too have manure IMHO isn't the brightest move |
