Subject: RE: Who's harvested down corn with a platform head?

Shelby County, Central, IL.
We have 30 acres that was blow over at the roots. Nice stiff stalks but the roots are on top of the ground. We put crop lifters on MacDon platform and running 70 to 80 degrees to the direction it is laying. Works great to get stalk into head but we are waiting for a solid hard freeze so mud from root wad doesn't plug everything up in combine.
Anyone got any other advise would be appreciated.
