Tried it once and the field had been cultivated. All the ears were laying on the ground in between the rows and the sickle ran right over the top of them. Corn head went back on with someone walking alongside with a pitch fork. 30 inch rows are better than 38's. I have taken 4 rows before with a 6 row 30 inch head and had much better luck with feeding/not plugging.
