South Dakota | I don’t think anyone has mastered it. We’ve set our yield records when we do absolutely nothing until August. My dad is more stingy with the water than I am. I’m ashamed to say it, but time and time again, less water meant more yield. Since learning that our yields have gone up. Even a few weeks of no rain doesn’t hurt anything. They’re showing that newer varieties of soybeans are really adding yield late in the season more than ever before. Soybeans for this area are made in August. We’ve seen that it’s easier to over water than under water. | |
