From my experience autopilot and autopilot motor drive have essentially identical performance. This on equipment operating at 4-8 mph. Both systems will stay engaged even when you come to a complete stop(ezpilot will disengage when under a certain speed). There are some plus and minus to both systems. The motor drive is generally easier to install but you end up with slightly more wiring in the cab. The motor drive is also easier to remove if you decided to trade tractors in the future. An autopilot system with a hydraulic steering value is probably slightly more reliable. The steering motor can fail on the motor drive system. The steering valves can have issues too but in general are extremely reliable. In theory, the hydraulic-based system should perform better but in practice, the systems are nearly identical.
