Is he in a better frame of mind after he eats?
We have tried more healthy snacks, especially right after school. But we can't always tell an improvement. And the snacks tend to get drawn out into an ordeal that interferes with homework/chores evening schedule. And trouble getting them to clean up their snack mess too. Which leads to the aforementioned situation before mealtime. Vicious cycle!
