I would not be a fan of making someone eat or making them eat to much. Maybe he is being ^%$$%^* or maybe he actually is not hungry. I think many problems come because kids eat to much.
on the other hand my daughter was as someone else described and a little %$^#&^% if she had not eaten. She now realizes how her mood is when she doesn't eat but when she was younger and we were not aware that her mood was because of lack of food we were at our wits end.
