I would imagine the right person would know how to connect directly to the SSD in there (take it apart and de-solder and hook right terminals to some adapter) and access it that way. Hope you figure something out.
I did use some program once to make a backup of stuff you can't backup with apple. Things like text messages and so on. This was on an iPhone. If you can get it to do something while hooked to your computer maybe software like that will help.
I believe the software was imazing.
