n.c.iowa | Coulda been a-bomb. The interesting and overriding theme for this particular incident is that the christensen’s have used “contract” labor from almost the getgo. In our area very few of the barns are owned locally, and even fewer are chored by the barn owners or by somebody they have hired. Know a guy that used to work for them years ago in management, he said three years of what they had going on there was enough for him. This was in regards to the labor program they were/are running.
Interesting part of the trucking story is that they used to hire several of the local trucking companies to haul hogs, but a year or so ago they contracted with a lease company to provide drivers and trucks to haul hogs.
This is a national leasing company.
