Jake, I think we are getting at the same thing. The op said if damaged appeared days later that is volitization. Due to the way growth regulators impact soybeans, it is hard to tell if it is drift or volitization based solely on timing of the symptoms alone. That is why I focused on the pattern of damage. Yes drift could affect an entire field, but it’s not likely to if the operator is a responsible one. Here i haven’t seen an even cupping of a 200 acre field until the new dicamba formulas were introduced. I live in an area where many raise seed corn, so dicamba has been used post in seed corn next to beans for many, many years. I wish the new formulas worked better, but I’m afraid they don’t. There’s something in that slow release salt/adujevent that causing damage to other beans. These are just my thoughts.
