Cedar Rapids, Iowa | We have a colored light on the same circuit as the load auger. That way we can easily see from a distance if the load auger is on or not. You would want that in view of the camera so you can see if it is on. Trying to get video of a pulley that is spinning can be difficult, as you probably won't get frame rate fast enough to really see motion. It will just look like a series of still photos. The amount of bandwidth on your internet link will determine how smooth the video will look.
What would be really handy for you would be a monitor on the load auger circuit to time the on/off times. If the load auger was on or off for longer than normal, you have a problem. Once either of those events happen, have it send an e-mail to your phone, received as a text message, so you would proactively know about problems.
I work for a bank. The cameras I mentioned above - the individual ethernet connected ones look at ATMs in a couple businesses, and the group of 8 monitor everything around a drive-up kiosk that houses 2 ATMs. | |
