Western Iowa | I agree 100%. You bought it to use it Jim. Rock on!
Just for fun, do the math. Every time you run to the other farm it will add 15 minutes to the hour meter. Do that twice a week for the coldest 3 months of the year. So about 25 times. Adds about 6.25 hrs a year on the machine. At a $10 a depreciation it is $62.50. At $20 an hour it totals up to $125 a year. $125 a year to load chain down, drive a pickup 3 miles, take chains off and unload 50 times. No thank you.
In ag applications of tracks, heat is a big deal on fast road speeds and long travels, otherwise it isn't really of concern. 12mph for 1.5 miles in the middle of winter doesn't meet any of those requirements.
