If you cruise the inside passage you get to see a lot of interesting sites that you cant see by road. Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Then out of Skagway you can ride a train through the mountains and then go by bus through the Yukon Territory to Fairbanks, Denali and then Anchorage. There are lots of interesting stops on the bus tour.
