| $80-100 is about what it cost to spread manure on an acre. Here if you don't farm the land you would get nothing for it so why not pay more for the rent.
The fields might get a little beat up on a wet year but if they rotate it in alfalfa it will be ok. Maybe see if they need some help with field work if you like that.
If you are worried about being paid talk to them about that before hand, never believe the rumor mill because on dairies you might be very surprised. Many are doing just fine at current prices.
Go talk to them. What do you have to lose by doing that?
