SE MN | A local dairy farmer is paying $80-100/acre above going rent rates for our area which has got me thinking about possibly renting the corn/bean ground for a year because I don't see that big of a profit margin by running it ourselves especially with current prices. Has anyone else thought this way? I know it is not something I like to think about having someone else running the land but from a business perspective I feel a person is stupid for passing up the opportunity. Would obviously need to be sure he will be applying proper nutrients and not mining the ground though as well. What are your thoughts? | |
