Sounds like what you need is an extension. The 18532 is a null modem cable and so is the 2000819.
The 2000819 only has pins 2,3, & 5. If you connect the 2 cables together you should be fine. If you want a cleaner install get a DB9 extension and remove all but pins 2,3,& 5.
