Subject: Do the original IH cut soys closer than Schumacher guard/sickle sytems/

just a tish NE of central ND
ON a 1020 IH head, do the IH original sickle systems cut soys closer to the ground than the Schumacher systems?Ive got 2 of them and they are both set up the same and both results are the same.
Ive read the 1020 head should lean forward 10 degrees measured on the tin backing /to verticle on flat ground to cut best and yet, If I dont tip mine forward more it cuts terrible high and it improves with more tip forward. But then it cuts with the nose of the guards down quite a lot.
I believe on my 1480 I have the feeder house quick attach face plate as far forward as the holes will allow and Im still not satisfied with the cut job.Moveing it back always makes it worse.
Thoughts?
