How do you have your generator transfer switch mounted?

Here are pictures of my installation of same box as yours . I used some steel flat bar stock and welded it into the shape of letter " I ". After welding it I laid the box on the steel " I " and used the box mounting holes to pattern where to drill holes in the steel . Also drilled three holes in the vertical portion of the " I " for holes to use lag bolts to fasten " I " to pole. Attached " I " to pole then mounted box to " I ".
Your power distribution looks to be under ground. Our power distribution is all overhead lines, hence power out of my box being routed out the top of the box .

The pole is ours although it was set by power company a L-O-N-G time ago. Power company does not allow mounting of meter or any customer equipment to any of their line poles. Main power pole with transformer stands ten feet away.
