Subject: RE: Deer Rifle for Daughter

Lancaster, Co. PA
I agree with the guys that say savage 243. I think savage makes a very good rifle. My dad bought me a Rem 243 pump gun when I turned 12 and could hunt here in PA. It's a great Accurate gun and I would not be scared to shoot 100 gr ammo 100+ yards if a deer gives a clear shot.

I won't ever get rid of the gun because it was my first but I do wish it was a bolt. I'm only 5'9" and the pump puts my forward arm front a little further than I think is comfortable. a regular bolt gun lets you pull your arm back on the stock I think from shooting my bolt action rifles it would feel more comfortable for her. Plus a little more stock will add a little more weight which also means a little less kick.
