I would get her a .243 in a savage with accutrigger. 5'6" is not short, would be tall in my family for women. Youth model will be too short, just get the regular one and maybe mount the scope 1" further back.
There are rounds available in reduced recoil, I have no experience with them.
A very nice rifle for the money.
I looked at the Rossi multi barrel thing for my kid bit it was so small it was ridiculous.
I believe the wife had a .243 as her first rifle when she was a kid. Not a bad caliber at all for taking down the deer. |
