East Central Saskatchewan | I bought both my boys a .243 bolt. Pretty good guns and decent enough to take down a deer fairly easy at reasonable yards. They are good to learn to shoot on as ammo is cheaper and the gun doesn't have very much recoil. When the kids got bigger they started to prefer the larger guns from 170 grains up. Larger cals will get you a better take down and power (longer shooting range also), but also more recoil. I would stick with a .243 for now and if she really gets into hunting and starts to broaden her game she wants to hunt, then look at getting a bigger rifle. |
