East Arkansas | My father showed me a letter today from Farmers National...apparently it was sent to all landholding entities. The letter in short was for a promotion of a "conference" that will be held to apprise landowners of all the extra rent they should be getting.
The letter started that 2016 was a record production year, producers have focused on he low prices but many opportunities to price at higher levels were missed (I'm sure this meeting has been planned for longer more than the past month) and that input prices are down significantly resulting in high farm incomes.
Last year was the first year in the 20'years I have been farming that I just barely broke even, truth be told I probably lost money. Sorry for the rant, I just love it when these vultures start circling.
If all of my ground was managed by these types I would seriously be looking for another career. | |
