You must not have not been around rattlers much. They don't always rattle. Many times yes they do but not always. I walked maybe 3' away from at work and didn't see it and it didn't rattle the guy following me saw it.
My main concern is them being around the house and the kids. The two people here that were bit recently were both kids and were both bitten while playing in their yards.
We don't have any in my area of ND, but am curious about your thoughts about something I read. I read that the wild pig problem has increased the snakes that don't rattle. The thinking was that snakes that rattle get noticed and eaten by pigs, while snakes that don't rattle may not be noticed by the pigs and not eaten. This leads to better survival of snakes that don't rattle. |
