Nebraska aka the boondocks | It is almost hilarious that in the year 2017 nobody has really put any effort into understanding Nebraska and it's irrigation. Or why you can have a pivot quarter right beside a dry land quarter. I have a usable soil cpapcity of 2.64 inches. My agronomist has a cow if the top foot gets below 75% saturation. That means in a year like this we can run out of useable water in a week, thus nonstop irrigation. Other areas such as Seward county have a usually soil capacity of 5.5 inches, I am told. This is useable, under 50% satiation is unusable. Some wells pup 1400 gallons some 300. Some guys are under restriction some can pump wide open. Some is 50 bushel dry land some is 220. But instead of breaking the state up and putting some effort into it, the whole thing is lumped together vanilla like, which is the lazy way out and not surprising. I mean really who wants to understand anything anyways.
