Lapel, In | Should you decide to weld up your own tank, be sure to clean the inside walls before welding it together. Steel sheets are coated with grease and carbon from the mill rolls. Sloshing of the fuel will continue to wash down the insides of any portable tank , so a good filter system is imperative on any portable tank, especially a new one or one that has been in service in a stationary position. I use a good highly evaporative paint thinner on a rag on new steel. Makes for a better,cleaner weld too. | |
