I don't understand your comment of giving up your data if you use, as you call it, "Mother Deere's cloud platform." I would encourage you to go to the web site of www.deere.com/trust If you were to read the first few lines of the web site it tells you that you are in control of your data at all times while using John Deere Operations Center. At no time will John Deere take control of your data. The data always has and always will be yours to control.

As far as Deere making other companies convert to be able to read the data that comes out of the displays and machines that you own I can understand the frustration. I am not excusing this but what is does sound like to me is that they are trying to convert to a more uniform way to move data back and forth so that it is easier for everyone to talk in the future. BTW I don't have any insight to this just the way I see it.
