He says the hedge funds are not large compared to the true whales.
He would say that a whale is large enough to fight the market for a little bit, but not forever. He would say that the whales understand the market and the participants and they will occasionally nudge the market one way or another to entice more people into a position that is against the direction they already see that the market will head.
He would say that some whales can get past reporting their buys and sells and that their positions are not reflected in the various sources of data that some people use to analyze the market such as net longs and shorts and volume and so on.
In my experience learning from him I have found no reason to not believe what he is saying. | |
