+1. And follow the directions.
As far as the marker there are only two things that can activate a marker drop, the in cab marker switch, and the pressure switch on the lift assist system.
I would start you investigation with the cab switch, but I've seen the pressure switch fail too, but when it does it usually won't advance the marker anymore.
