Southern Illinois | I think I understand what his thinking is. I think there are a lot of people in the grain trade that sit at a desk and look at forecasts and don't really understand that after a rain event like this, you just don't get back in the field with a clear forecast for a few days. It has been my experience (50 yrs of it) that we rarely get enough dry time to get back into the field before another rain event comes through this time of year and sets us back again. For us, it often happens that after an event like this, it is not unusual to lose a whole month.
