1993 was the mother of flood outs. The whole Midwest floated down the Mississippi that year but northern Illinois was in good shape so the traders played, rain makes grain. We had an early September frost the put the crop in the coffin. Finally the government opened up the 092 program and millions of acres where plowed under. They only traded a counter seasonal move that year. i know what happened in 1993 I was on the levees throwing bags and loading helicopters. It had nothing to do with the spring of the year. We were fighting it mid summer. Lost 3 levees close to me. Hillview, hull and Quincy because of vandalism
