NW Iowa | NW IA, run a 12 row and usually sit with 90-100 acres/row depending on the amount of custom work we do. 2 of us generally run the planter and both work full time (take time off to plant). My brother is starting to run it a little more. Not uncommon for.the rig to be running 16 hours/day.
I'd like to jump to a 16, would match the corn head, but that's just more $. It generally takes us 2-3 weeks to get everything planted, which I don't think is terrible.
Lots of 12's and 16's in our area, a few 24's and larger, and then a few 8's or 6's. One guy around here farms about 3k acres with a 12 row... | |
