Northeast Louisiana | A neighbor of ours opens all of his fields with his draper header. I watched him do it and was surprised how well it worked. He left far less corn in the field, and the grain tank samples were fine. Keep in mind, down here corn is planted on raised beds and we do not plant across the rows on the ends of the fields. So when we open a field, we have to go across the rows with a corn header, and lots of ears are lost.
Anyway, just another way of doing it. | |
