I think both of the last 2 comments were right on point.

NDVI really needs to stop being referred to as a health map, vigor, etc. It's a comparative reflectance map. What it's telling you depends on the variables and your own interpretation. In our environment, it's typically nothing more than LAI.

False or exaggerated claims about the ONE index that's getting so much attention really detracts from the future abilities of the technology, and those abilities will definitely be more reliant on other indices, as well as a combination of imaging non-imaging sensors.
