Thumb of Michigan | If posssible, spray it sometime in August with 2-4-d, dicamba, or something along those lines. I suppose you could throw some glyphosate in as well if theres an abundance of exisisting grass. Hit it again after a light frost with glyphosate. I'd also recomend some sort of residual the second shot. We've been happy with what we've seen with Autumn herbicide, but theres other options out there.
Reason I recomend twice is that when we try to do a one shot deal with a few years of growth, we always seems to have a lot of new regrowth. If it hasn't been cropped in 20 years, theres probably going to be a fair amount of regrowth. You want to deal with it now, not next spring. Options are fewer next year vs this fall. | |
