I'll stick my neck out here and suggest a Hobart 250. We've had one for 3 years now and have been really happy with it. One question to ask yourself is if you use it everyday all day or maybe only a couple of times a week. If you are using it 25-30 hours a week I would consider Miller or Lincoln, but in our case the Hobart fit better for the cost. We've used it for welding very thin aluminum (with spool gun) to 1/2" plate with great results. On the 250 some of the tips, nozzles, etc. are the same part number for a Miller. Also keep an eye out on Northern Hydraulic or other places as they will run sales and basically throw in the spool gun for free. This is not something you might need very often, but worth the wait and not have to pay for it.
