bartman, something to look at is a Lincoln power mig 210, for a 900 bucks you are getting a heck of a multi process welder.  the early reports I have heard are that's a pretty decent welder.    I have a miller matic 200 it's been pretty good welder.    120/240/ .   wire, flux cored, stick, tig, spool gun.   weighs about 37 lbs, runs about $1900.
