| We had a big customer a few years ago in a big hurry to get his grain hauled. I mentioned it to the guys at the elevator joking about them working on Saturday so we could get done. One of the guys said he was planning on drinking beer all day Saturday. It worked out well as I opened a tab at the bar across the street. There was a little investigation though as to why Saturdays bin measurements didn't match Monday mornings though!
At one time it was common for the local elevators to take a few trucks in the night. It was also common to be hauling beans and suddenly for no reason have a couple hundred bushel of corn come out the spout! | |
