Iowa | I would have been five yrs old. We were all JD on the farm at the time but I remember exactly where we were in Washington in Dad's pickup as he tried to explain who was buying who and what affect it was going to have. I remember it providing great conversation material between myself and my friends who were seemingly red leaning softies. It was great ammunition for us on the green side but also a source of insecurity for us youngsters that Tenneco - whom we had really never heard of - was taking over. We weren't sure at all if this thing was gonna be good for the world. The whole deal was a conversation piece for several years.
