SW Iowa | I have a daughter who is an absolute animal nut. I would like to teach her some responsibility about care of animals etc.. I was considering getting her a female cattle dog of some type , healer, australian shepherd, etc.. There would be the added benefit of having a trained cattle dog around. :-)
She is good with animals but a bit more impulsive than most 10 year old girls. I was considering a pup in the spring, but wanted to get her started with a book on dog training, specifically herd dog training.
Does anyone (Denice??) have a good recommendation?
