S Illinois | I would submit that we are trying to pin the 2004 price drop on the wrong culprit. The 2004 planting season was a very good planting season with an extremely quickly planting pace for both corn and beans. Additionally crop ratings started high and remained high throughout the growing year. It was not the export sales or any type of game that China was playing that caused the price drop, it was the prospect of increased production and corresponding ending stocks increase that was the cause. | |
