I would dry them off as fast as I could.

I like the panty hose trick to keep the ears from freezing. They do sell calf coats, maybe a neighbor would have some you could borrow?

What do you do when you need to get a cow in?

I used to calve this time of year, and got tired of winter. Was stressful for all. I will have to fight the mud soon, but wont worry about them freezing to death.
