The solution is to eliminate the whole program. Anything that eliminates risk is eventually capitalized into land costs and input prices.


By that rationale futures and options would go away as well.

It is in the best interests of the US government to have a stable supply of many things, especially food. Risk is not eliminated it is managed. Once again, it is voluntary.

I'd rather have a choice and be able to manage rather than have an event that would end many farms and then have to beg for a disaster bill. For all other things see my tag line. We will likely have to agree to disagree on this one. The great part about 'Merica is we can do that.
